Alcoholics Anonymous in Brazil – Chatbot Anonymous Friend
We have before us an example of direct marketing that deserves great respect and admiration. We often think that marketing or advertising only serve to sell, but their true objective is to spread information, content or services for a better understanding of the user.
Taking this true spirit of dissemination, Alcoholics Anonymous of Brazil, together with the help of Facebook, decided to create a tool to help Brazilian youth between 13 and 15 years old who were falling into alcohol consumption.
Thus arose the idea of ​​a Facebook list of catalan consumer email chatbot called  Friend , capable of having an intelligent conversation with young users concerned about this issue and who wanted to better understand the harmful effects of this drink and/or needed help.

To launch this direct marketing project , 34 members of Alcoholics Anonymous were interviewed and their experiences were used to create the chatbot’s responses. The project was ready in 4 months. In the first month alone, 100,000 people spoke to Anonymous Friend and 60% were minors.
To publicize this tool to help young people, a promotional campaign was created on Facebook that was disseminated in the following formats:
